We are a nation of animal lovers. Many of us have enjoyed the company of our animals over the years and we miss them, that is why we look forward to animal visits. We’ve been treated to many over the years, from fluffy bunnies to reptiles and spiders, we welcomed them in with open arms. Well, not so much open arms for the spiders but we did enjoy seeing them from a distance.
Today we had a visit from Ark Farm, they brought with them some wonderful animals. We met Shelby the tortoise, Pickles the pygmy African hedgehog and Gopa the Labrador. Gopa was such a character, he didn’t know which one of us to cuddle first, he really enjoyed all the attention.
We also got to meet a barn owl, guinea pigs and rabbits. The animals were extremely well behaved and clearly very happy to be petted.
Ark Farm stayed with us in lounge, telling us a bit of history and some interesting information about all the animals. Did you know that a group of tortoises is called a creep? We loved hearing all about the animals, but we loved holding them more. There is something very therapeutic about stroking an animal.
We didn’t want the animals to leave, but sadly they had to but not before visiting the other residents in their rooms. Gopa bounded from room to room, he was in his element, there was a new friend behind every door.
We have been promised that Ark Farm and their charming friends will be back very soon. We are looking forward to it.
