How many songs, poems, novels have been written about love? I don’t know the answer, but it is a lot. We all feel love, we all look to be loved and yet for each of us love is a unique emotion.
This week is Valentine’s Day, a day for couples to celebrate that special love that exists between them.
But Valentine’s Day isn’t just for lovers, love is everywhere and felt by everyone. We have love for our families, for our friends, for our pets. We love so much and in so many ways.
Romantic love is wonderful, it can be an all-consuming happiness, a love that makes the sky look bluer, and the sunshine brighter. But non-romantic love is equally wonderful, that feeling of adoration, a fondness that wraps you in a warm blanket and makes you feel content and secure.
All of us have love in our lives, and we have been celebrating this love all week. We were treated to a special Valentine’s lunch, with delicious food and sparkling wine. We watched romantic films and listened to love songs.
We’ve felt the love around the home, and we wanted to share that feeling with our families. Last week we spent an afternoon writing messages of love and good wishes, they were then placed inside balloons with some confetti and sent on their merry way. We were all so excited to hear about their reactions. We didn’t have to wait long, the team had asked our families to video themselves popping the balloons, it was just wonderful to see the looks on their faces, we could tell it meant a lot. It felt good to be able to surprise our loved ones in such a creative way, so special and unique, I don’t imagine they get messages in balloons every day.
