This past month the country has seen the next stage of restrictions being lifted, due to the success of the four steps outlined in the government roadmap. In return residents have also experienced a reduction in restrictions, due to this Timken Grange lifestyle team have been able to start to introduce a more varied lifestyle programme. This has included residents being offered the opportunity to get out and about in the community with the support of either their nominated individual or in this case the Lifestyle Team.
Our wonderful residents spent a beautiful morning going on a road trip in the local area.
One resident commented, ‘Oh I had such a lovely time going out for a trip’.
Managing Director Daniel has been spending a lot of time getting to know the team and residents. He said ‘It is so nice to see some lifting of restrictions for care homes. As soon as we were able, residents have been enabled to use the homes transport for trips out. I was at the entrance as those that went out today got back to the home. It was heart-warming to see the smiles on their faces and to hear all about their morning out.’
Here at Timken Grange, we cannot wait until normality returns and our residents can experience days and activities out of the home. This small snapshot of normality provided our residents with such joy. The social aspect of days out is highly beneficial to resident’s well-being. Encouraging socialisation and stimulating conversations.
