This week’s Whimsical Wonderland event was extra special. Sadly, our lives, to some degree, continue to be affected by the Covid virus, and whilst life is beginning to get back to normal, we are still being incredibly careful here at Timken. Both the team and all residents are continuing to test weekly, and mitigations are put in place very swiftly should someone test positive. This has affected the planning of our events as there have been occasions recently when we have not been able to mix with each other as freely as usual.  

The Whimsical Wonderland event followed a short period of restrictions and was the perfect way to celebrate being able to come together again.

We were delighted to welcome Tina from Dance Minds along; Tina had put together a whimsical ribbon routine and even wore a unicorn headband to get us in the whimsical mood.

We had a visit from the Lollipop Party Ponies who brought along their collection of rare breed unicorns, they were an absolute delight and so well behaved. It turns out that unicorns love to be petted almost as much as the ponies that visited us last time.

In the afternoon we were treated to a party, however this was no ordinary party, we were invited into a world of whimsy and magic, the tearoom was strewn with hanging flowers and vines and the tables laid with the most delicious array of charcuterie, fairy themed cupcakes and strawberry gin cocktails, the team had raided their extensive costume box to ensure that they were dressed appropriately, they do seem to enjoy a spot of fancy dress. We danced the afternoon away in beautiful surroundings, it was an incredibly special day.

We are now looking forward to our next themed event, the team ae keeping the theme under their hat for now but we have no doubt that it will be wonderful.
