So, what is life really like here at Timken Grange?

Breakfast is served in the dining room from around 7.30am to 10am, we will also bring you breakfast in bed if you don’t feel up to socialising so early in the morning, we’re not all morning people, are we?

Following breakfast there is a whole host of things to do. You can visit the salon and have your hair and nails done, you can retire to the cinema and watch a film or catch up on your favourite soaps on the big screen.

If you are looking for a bit of peace and quiet, we have a library or the snug where you can watch the world go by with a fresh coffee and a good book.

Lunch is a three-course affair and is always a social occasion, however if you aren’t feeling too hungry, you can order a jacket potato or a sandwich from the light bites menu, eat it in your room if you would rather.

Following lunch, whilst the team wash up, you can sit in the lounge and have a chat or watch TV. Maybe you’d like to join in one of the regular activities, such as knitting club, craft club or yoga, there is an activity on offer both before and after lunch, and they’re always a lot of fun.

Tea is served from around 4.30pm and after that a relaxing evening lays ahead of you; with such a wide choice of facilities to enjoy, there are plenty of options available. Maybe you like a quiet evening enjoying a hobby or watching the television. Maybe you’d like to head up to the bar and enjoy the sunset with a G&T, or perhaps you’d like a glass of wine and a good old catch up with friends in the home or with family via Zoom.

There are so many preconceptions around residential care homes and if like me, you thought that care homes were all rice pudding and bingo, then you were wrong. You don’t just have to take my word for it, you can come along and see for yourself, we’d love to show you around, you can even stay for lunch, see if the menu is as good as I say it is.
